Default Ali express

Has anyone heard of this site before. There material seems really cheap..... I can hardly believe. Someone on facebook got the zippers and was thrilled with quality. Says " no shipping"... just wondering if anyone has any experience with Aliexpress.com

Wow, they do have great prices. I wonder if it is all OK?

I believe this is the Chinese version of Amazon. I ordered some hair extensions for my daughter from two different places and they arrived fine. If you check the shipping, you'll see it is International.

Edit: I found some websites with more info. Aliexpress is the retail side of Alibaba (the Chinese eBay).

Basically you need to exercise the same cautions you would use if purchasing from eBay. The prices are so good because many of the items are coming directly from manufacturers and companies in China.

I did order some coin purse clamps a while ago from them and they are fine and much cheaper then buying at joanns. shipping took a little while but I was in no hurry...and now I will be checking out zippers because I would like to make those big girl panty coin purses. I had a good experience with buying with them.

gsbuffalo, you might check out Wawak Sewing, they have awesome prices, on zippers also. They also have great customer service. Now that you've reminded me about the big girl panty purses, I'm going to check out my zipper collection and see if I need any. Thanks

I had never heard of them before. I did know about Albaba. I would be VERY cautious about buying from them directly. My best friend bought her daughter's prom dress directly from China and it was so poorly sewn. Friend could NOT get a refund even when she tried through her CC company. Not the safeguards that we have here in the states.

what about using your credit card with them? Is that a danger?

looking at the 2 web sites offered by Prism99. So do you have to pay customs fees when your item comes?

Drop shipping means the item is shipped directly from the factory to the customer. Usually there is a middle man who takes the order, transmits it to the factory, and arranges for the shipment but this middle man never has the item in his hands (or store).

We did not pay customs fees on the hair extensions my daughter ordered. They came from two different companies, with the more expensive order somewhere in the neighborhood of $150.

The credit card is processed over a secure website. I had no problems with it (other than having to figure out the layers of security to go through). My credit card company is skittish, though, and blocked my account after this purchase. I had to call in order to verify I had actually made the purchase. However, they did the same thing after I ordered a washer and dryer from the local Best Buy. Our card was hacked once, so they just do that automatically for us.
