Schill, thank you so much for the encouragement. I even bought a Janome 9400 because I thought that would help me to FMQ. The problem is I have been afraid to start. From your post, I realize that I can devote an hour a day to practice, and there will probably be a light at the end of the tunnel. I have always been one of those people who do not like to do anything I am not good at. Surely, if I practice 1 hour a day, I can at least become passable. Thank you again.

I'm glad you posted this, this is exactly how I feel. My free motion doesn't look so good. I have been very disappointed. Maybe one day I will be able to say the same thing. Thanks for the encouragement.

I recently bought a Qnique 15 and have been practicing. I did only 1 “practice” quilt. Went pretty darn good! So i decided to use my thread and time on real quilts. I have some for the grands and some outdoor/picnic tops that i figured i would be just fine at! Well I have discovered that i dont have the patience to go back and forth across 60” of fabric with any consistency. I start out meandering and next thing i am doing loops!. Or i want to have big swirly things and next I am filling in space with small “circles”. This might be a problem for me in general, not just quilting! as this is not the first time this has happened. I must subconsciously get bored? And move on? I don’t know but i am plugging on! I will get all the tops done that have been patiently waiting and hopefully when i get to the special gift for my sister and my big Christmas quilt for myself, i will have learned some patience. And by the way, I love my Grace Q’nique 15R and the 8’ Frame i got!!! It’s a pretty affordable set up..
