I have never removed my stay stitching either... as long as your binding covers it, there's no harm.

I also leave the stay stitching in my quilt sandwich.

What stitch length is recommended for a stay stitch? I use 2.0 or 2.5 for piecing and 3.5 for topstitching. I have a Pfaff 2044. Thank you in advance!
