I agree with Janie, you are always on point, Jan! And that mat storage/carrier is the best idea. I would put some kind of a handle on it. I'll have to think about that for a while.

Hey, thanks everyone! So much good info! I'm passing on those mats and sticking with my Olfa mats. They're aging and showing wear (much like myself!) but they still work (just like me!)!

I store the cutting mats that I am not using between my box spring and mattress with a piece of corrugated plastic under the mat. My mattress is a temperpedic, so no warping under there. Seems to work fine.

Luckily for me the closet doors in my sewing room are huge heavy sliding doors and there is just enough room for my largest mats. I used to store them under a bed or couch but between the doors there is no dust accumulation. :-)

I have had my Olfa mat for over 20 years one of the best things I brought home from America with me , I keep it on my cutting table nice and flat all the time , I have a couple of smaller ones to take to classes.

That's a great idea, Jan. I'll have to make several of them. So far I've been lucky and haven't had any warping issues.
