I make the scraps into a crazy quilt blanket for the animals...and use a cheap polar fleece blanket as the base or use scraps of polar fleece sewed together to make a pillow case...then I put an old pillow that I might discard in it and donate.

We take pillowcases and fill them with all kinds of scraps, cotton, flannel and fleece, stich the opening close and you have a dog or cat bed. We either donate or have sold them for $3 to raise funds for fabric.
