Default Another GFG question

I'm beginning to plan my GFG and I'm stumped as to which themed fabric to use. I'd appreciated hearing from whoever has made one to let me know what kind of fabric you used. Should I use all 30's reproduction fabrics? Or, at least all with the same theme? Or, should I reach blindly into my scrap bag and just pull them out randomly? Can I mix 30's, 60's and current fabrics? Is there a rule of thumb for GFG? All help will be appreciated!

You can do anything you want to do with using bright batiks to repros. There are no rules. Take a look at Google images and see what interest you in making. This was my baby done from repros. When I saw the pattern layout in a magazine years ago, I knew this is the one I wanted to make. Took two years to piece.
