I use the magnetic bowl for holding vintage sewing machine parts so they don't get lost while I'm cleaning and oiling the machine. I have one of the long magnet wands for retrieving errant metal bobbins that roll behind my big sewing cabinet.

I had one for many years on my boat to hold screws, nuts and washers in. I also used it to test to be sure that what I was using was really stainless steel. I brought it to my house when I moved off the boat, and now use it in my sewing room. When I drop a pin or needle, I use it to 'vacuum' the needle up out of the carpet.

I appreciate the warning about using it around electronic machines.

Going to Harbor Freight tomorrow- I love looking around to see what I might use. I spotted some small weights recently that I haven't purchased yet. They will be good for holding fabric and papers down on the cutting table. I use large washers and nuts for that now but some little weights would be nice- why not? I love looking at the small screw drivers and have several I use with my machines.

A while back I bought a shower handle that has suction cups on it and works great on my 6 X 24 inch ruler and it cost a fraction of what they cost at the quilt store. Found a small one there too for $3 something that works great on my 6 1/2" square ruler.
