What a terrific blessing.....to love what you do and do what you love. I agree, fabric is costly so getting it cheaper any time is a deal. Ponder over everything you see at first or you will end up buying the whole store.

Enjoy your new job and I am sure the customers will welcome you with open arms.

I get the opportunity to work for money or fabric. I am still undecided. I am a nanny during the day so I do get a pay cheque. My hubby thinks maybe I should work for fabric because it is not cheap, and I can order it from her disributors by the bolt at cost, so I get it wayyyyyyy cheaper. lol!
wow, your lucky, I say get the fabric!!! I would love to work for fabric, but I can't send my phone company, ect. fabric to pay my bills...lol.

Congrats! But I couldn't work in a great fabric place...I'd spend more than I made!
    Blessings,

I am part of a quilting guild here (Calgary Modern Quilt Guild) we meet every third Saturday of each month at a quilting store (Traditional Pastimes). I have become very good friends with the owner. The owner Bernadette has offered me a job at her store working Thursday evenings. I am so excited, I love working in fabric stores.

My first job when I was 14 was working for Fabricland in Lethbridge, I stayed there for 2 years. :) I had so much fabric, but when I moved to Calgary I had to get rid of it all. :( So this is my chance to build up my stash again and see all the new fabrics coming into the store before anyone else does lol.

I am so excited to be working there soon :)
Hugs to all, and thanks for letting me share. :)
Congratulations! What an opportunity to see the newest lines of fabric and all the notions, etc. And to be able to TOUCH all that beautiful fabric. I taught a couple of classes at a fabric store and every week I brought home a batch of fabric with lots of plans for it. Well, today some of that fabric is still waiting for me.
