Default Another T shirt quilt ?

If I want to use some quilting cotton fabric for sashing, borders, and some random blocks, should I use some interfacing on it to match the knit fabric? I did some searching in the archives but didn’t see an answer to my question. This forum doesn’t make it easy though so sorry if this is a repeat.
Thank you in advance.

I did a t-shirt quilt for my husband many yrs ago. I didn't use interfacing for anything except the t-shirt blocks. It turned out fine & still looks good. I think using interfacing on the sashing, etc. would make them stiffer than the blocks & might not be as cozy.

I add fabric to my tee shirt quilts all the time. I do not interface a cotton fabric. only the tee shirts. I am giving 2 of them away this after noon for graduation. The boys have not seen them yet so I am excited to see them get them.

I made a T-shirt quilt and no facing other than on the T-shirts because of the different kinds of fabric they are made from.
