You might try BIZ detergent. I used it on a grease stain and on some dye that bled on the back of a quilt.

I see that you have a lot of suggestions.....just thought I would throw this one into the pot. I remember using Dreft Laundry detergent for my kids clothes when they were little. It is formulated to be used for infants clothing and it was the only product I ever found that would remove those nasty formula stains. (not to mention the other types of stains babies make) This is the stuff I would use if I had a stained but fragile antique item to wash. Good luck and please let us know what works the best.

Thanks Everybody for your suggestions. I can't get to a quilt shop (there aren't any real close) and I had already checked Hancock's and JoAnn's. I looked on the web for Vintage Soak and can't buy it unless I'm a retailer, But I did get the RetroClean site and purchased some. The lemons I'm afraid of (the acid may be too strong for this fabric?) and I have oxyclean and never thought of using it. Also have Dreft cause the grandkids live with me...never occurred to me to try that. Well, I'll wait for the RetroClean to be shipped and let you all know how it works out. Thanks again for the input.
