Georgia Bonesteel
Jenny Beyer
Michael James
Jean Ray Laury
Judy Martin
Billie Lauder
Mary Ellen Hopkins
Shar Jorgenson

These are the quilter's that I learned to quilt through their books, tv shows and articles in the quilt magazines. No internet back then so every scrap of quilting news was savored. I think no other quilt show has come close to having more information, more patterns, and more how tos crammed into one 1/2 show then Lap Quilting with Georgia Bonesteel.

What quilt legends did you learn from?

Fons and Porter
Sue Haussman
Ricky Timms

Of course, SIMPLY QUILTS was my favorite quilting show. I did watch Georgia on PBS for a while. Alex Anderson is my kind of gal. Her guests were great. Billie Lauder, Diana McClun and Laura Nownes, Ricky Timms, I can't think of all the names. But at the time I took notes and drew sketches. Then I began buying books. Eleanor Burns was a favorite with her "and then you get rid of it" and over her shoulder it went. Oh, and Mary Ellen Hopkins and the Peaky and Spike lady, Doreen Speckmann.

Georgia Bonesteel is still on PBS here, They just started showing her first series, and they are fun to watch, also takes me back to basics.
I have all her signed books. Also books by Amanda Owens and Patricia Williams. Most of my learning has been from books.

Alex Anderson - Simply Quilts was the only quilting show that we got on our cable stations.

I would have to say that I have learned most of my quilting information from the other quilters @ www.quiltingboard.com who have taught me the tips and tricks of quilting.
Thanks you for that, Maribeth

I learned from local artisans, both the construction aspect and the design aspect of quilting, but the first TV quilting show I followed was Kaye Wood's.

Eleanor Burns by far. Second is Nancy on Sewing with Nancy. She really has some good shows.
I have picked up hints from others along the way. Billie Lauder.
Watched them all but Burns is the best.
