Any suggestions
For the back of a gift quilt, we are using Garden Maze as signature blocks. Below is a sample. The quilt will hold 36 blocks. But only 24 of them are signature blocks. The other ten are the center solid block. Unfortunately I need 30 signature blocks. Any suggestion as to how to make the solid blocks usable as signature blocks? I have thought about changing the black flowered blocks to solids and using a white pen. Or making the solid blocks gray. I have even considered appliqueing white circles or squares on the current flowered blocks. Any other good ideas?

Probably the easiest would be a diagonal banner across the center square, like one bar of the X shape but wider. You will lose most of the fabric of the block but would have the opposing triangles. I'd pick something more like a light blue or grey for the banner, not the same color as the X's.

I would make the center block a lighter coordinating color, not a print on the block you wish to have for the signatures. Perhaps a light pink or light blue even the light green that is in the prints.

The layout I was going to use was a row with Xs and then a row without the Xs repeated over and over.
that gave me the 24 signature blocks.
But instead, I have figured out if I repeat the pattern laid out above four times, amazingly, I get 32 blocks.
Imagine that?
thanks for all your suggestions.
