If this is a singer my mom has one. She does very well with it. Her's has a wood table. Just keep it oiled.

Keeping in mind I am just at the research stages looks like a pretty sturdy set up but I think I might be a little leery if its not made anymore. Make sure you can have it serviced locally & maybe someone close by to get advise from when needed. Let us know what you decide.

That is the one I have. U have been using mine for 15 years. I keep it oiled and it works just like the day I bought it. I can't do any of the fancy stitching on it but my customers have all been senior citizens and I only charge $50.00 per quilt. I gave $2500.00 for mine and it came with a binder which is a commercial machine with a binding attachment and a bobbin winder.

I have one and it works well be sure to keep and eye on the oil pan. You do not want it to get low. It is a pain because it is so heavy. I unplug mine when I leave the shop. Before you buy ask and see if she will let you give it a test run before buying. take small top backing and batting with you to get the fell of it.
