Default Anyone Made "Cog in a Wheel?"

I purchased the pattern...something I rarely do and it is so intricate....I don't think I'll ever do it. It says "Confident beginner".....I'd say I'm some past that, but I'm not sure I can tackle this one.
If anyone has done this quilt, please talk me down to giving it a try.

This is one I would probably think I could handle, but give up one long before it's finished. Sure looks complicaed to me.

Pretty! Not sure about its’ designation for a confident beginner, but maybe it is one of those patterns, you just need to start? Looks like there is a couple YouTubes about it, but I didn’t check them out.

Yes you can do it! You're up to the challenge! Think of how proud you will be to show it off when you're done! Think of how much you will learn while making it!

I like the version online with a black background. It does look complicated, and I would definitely make it with paper piecing rather than traditional piecing.

Never made one, but it's been on my bucket list for a while. Can't wait to see yours.

the cutting would be a cinch if you have an accquilt Qube set.
I'd find the keeping track of the lay out mind numbing

I went to see what this pattern looked like plus I watched some of the Youtube video and it seems like it's something I could do or I'll try as I just ordered the pattern off of Etsy. I like paper piecing so I'll probably use that method. I have someone in my church that asked for something that looks "metal" and thought this one might do the trick if I use mostly greys and metal colors. Thanks for mentioning it here.

What a lovely Challenge Quilt! I wish I did not have so many ideas rumbling about in my head and listed on my "To Do" list. This would be one of them. It would be a good review of paper piecing and use of color. The idea of using all metal colors or even black and white would make a sharp modern quilt. (I really do like the colors on the tutorial though. )

@Watson *waving* a big hello to you. Your showing up, must have been some mental telepathy, as I was thinking of you just the other day. We know that you can do this! To me it looks like one of those ones where it is a bit complicated at first, and then not long after you get going with it, things click, and it is a breeze from there on. Look forward to seeing your finish!
