Thanks Meadow Mist! If you do decide to make this quilt there is a group on facebook where you can find great hints. Just do a search for Circa 1880 and you'll find it.

Linda, the blocks are made using the strip method so it's really easy to make the small blocks. I found it very relaxing. Each block went really fast since it's so small. I made mine larger than the pattern called for. It's going on a queen size bed in our guest room.

I think it's a great quilt design - and would be easy to make the individual blocks bigger.

I thought I'd update this post about the Circa 1880 nine patch quilt some of us are making. I finished mine! And it has won 4 ribbons in 2 quilt shows. Viewers Choice was awarded at the Capital Quilters Guild show in Raleigh NC last month. It also won Honorable Mention and the judges gave it the Award of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in Quiltmaking at the same show. A 1st place blue ribbon was awarded at the Hearts & Hands Guild quilt show in Sanford, NC in Oct. 2021.
