    i need to change the log cabin block from a 23 inch squar to a 45 inch the strips are 1 1/4 now i changed them to 3 inch and still to small help

    boy if you could find buickjim (a quilter on another forum some time ago) he could tell you in a heart beat. he's the log cabin King.He has a quiltstore in California, something with Bear in the name because everyone made him blocks with bears in it.

    There are several different patterns for Log Cabin. If you could give more information, it would be easier to calculate. A picture would be great.

    ok it's a pattern i posted a few days ago with tumbling blocks the log cabin is the background i made the blocks a 40 inch square because its going on a king size bed so i need to change the background too

    thanks in advance mine time i will search for bear

    I don't know for sure if I understand what you are asking, but I will try...

    If you need a 45" log cabin and you have 12 strips wide in your log cabin. 45/12=3.75 and if you add .5 for seam allowances. I come up with 4.25 or 4 1/4". Your finished square will actually be a little larger because of the white strip that connects them, so your large square would be 92.25", if I understand what you are asking.
