Default Applique question

I used Heatnbond on a owl applique and ironed it to my fabric square but it is not sticking to the fabric. I need a permanent bond. What do I use now? I do not want to sew it down I just want it on the fabric as it. They are going to be pillows that have 3 little owls on it. The pattern is from Accuquilt Go.

If the fabric has not yet been laundered, the sizing sometimes won't let the fusible stick. If it has been laundered, then dryer sheets/fabric softener will also prevent adhesive from sticking.

I've also found that with heat and bond that its very finicky about temperature. If you get it to hot it will melt completely away and won't stick. If your iron is too cool then it won't melt correctly.

Heat n Bond is definitely fussy about your iron temp. I turn my iron down quite a bit.

Also, it only takes about 4-5 seconds to bond. When I place my iron on applique, I count to 5 and raise iron at the 5 count.

Set your iron on a rayon setting. Wash fabric before using and do not use fabric softener of any kind. Good luck!
