Appliqueing minky onto cotton?

The Elmer's glue worked! I used both the school glue and glue sticks...
Here are final photos (I made a separate thread, but wanted to make sure the people who gave me input here would see how it turned out). I need to work on my applique stitching, but I love how it turned out
