I love love love your quilt! I have a wool quilt I got at a flea market over 10 years ago. Always wanted to get it appraised, but no where close to do it. And I always forget to take it with me to shows.

Yes machine applique....but is it fused raw edge or turned edge?
Satin stitch. I think you can see it better on the moose closeup.

We understand the value of our quilts, all money aside. But it sure is nice and affirming to hear that dollar value, too! Wonderful quilt!

if you visit the AMERICAN QUILTERS SOCIETY web site they have a list of certified quilt appraisers (they are the ones who certify quilt appraisers- you can look through the list find one in your area and give them a call-
most of the quilt shows have appraisers come in and you can set up an appointment (even if you do not have a quilt in the show).
it is well worth the money to have your quilts appraised- especially for insurance purposes- if your house were to burn down or some other disaster and you claimed quilts all your insurance is going to allow is what a blanket at the store would cost-unless you have an appraisal showing it is something more.
of course not all quilts need to be appraised- but the really special ones you make would be worth the time and cash- i do not know what this year's prices might be or if they vary from place to place- but it cost me $30 when i had my wool quilt appraised
