    Default Arizona quilters?

    Ladies,
I have a good friend who I want to make a quilt for. She moved to AZ many years ago. We reconnected through Facebook. She is an older lady.

When they lived in IL her home color scheme was all white with accents of black. It was very modern. Now, I haven't a clue what colors she is using. I've asked her. She'd rather I just take picts of the quilts I make instead of making one for her.

So, I realize you wouldn't know her, but what colors do you suggest for an AZ quilt?

    TIA~

    Default Arizona quilt

Maybe she really doesn't want a quilt. If she's older as you say she may have too many possessions now she doesn't need.
I have a sweet friend that I've made a Minkee throw for but he turned it down claiming it wasn't long enough for him. I sensed he was embarrassed to receive my gift. Was awkward for both of us.
I sure understand your wanting to do this for your friend but if she's said no I'd give it a second thought.

I've thought about that. She says she has no one that she would want to give her treasures to. That makes me sad. Yes, she has a son, and at least one niece.

Thanks for your thoughts...I don't know.....I wonder about a tote? I wouldn't make a wall hanging as I'm sure something like that wouldn't fit in with her decor.

I make my Mother wall hangings or table runners. She does not have a lot of room. I would make her something small.

I did that with a quilt awhile ago.
either go with what you like or tell her you're making a quilt for you aunt and don't know what colors to make it.
maybe she'll give you a hint of the colors she likes.

on the other hand. hot pads or pot holders can go anywhere. make her kitchen stuff.
Maybe make her a set of cloth napkins and a placemat. Everyone needs potholders. or the microwave hot plate holders.

Maybe she's one of those people that don't like handmade items. Maker her a change purse for her bag. start small and see how it goes over.

A door hanging might be another idea. Outside of the door. I live in Tucson, AZ and alot of people decorate their doors.

My best friend moved to AZ over two years ago. I made her this table runner which is on her table in her new home.

That's a really pretty runner! I've wanted to learn how to do a bargello and that would be good to learn with.
