Does anyone know anything about this fabric?

I bought a panel that has "asoka batik" stamped in one corner.

front?

The only thing I know about it is I want it!! That is gorgeous!!

Is there more, or does it end at their necks?

The artwork in the hair has an Australian Aboriginal look to it. Not sure about the faces.

Don't know anything about the fabric but Asoka I believe was a great emperer of India long ago but the fabric reminds me of Greek mythology - it is beautiful

I copied the photos of it and sent it to my friend. Maybe she will know as she has lived abroad for many years and is familiar with different batiks from different places, Singapore, India, Indonesia, etc. Will let you know if she has some insight to it.

This is what my friend from Singapore said:
Went to google for info on Asoka Batik. I don't know if it's a particular artist or a company but it comes from a coastal town on western Indonesia. Not much information since most sites were in bahasa Indonesia..... meaning Indonesia's language.
