Hi everyone,

How do you all attach your labels when you are longarming a quilt? Do you add it to the backing before you start quilting and quilt through the label or attach it at the end after it is quilted.

I'm a beginner at longarming so need to know these things :-)

Hope you can all give me some help please.

Many thanks

Jenny

I don't long arm, but I recently made a quilt to commemorate a family reunion and had a lovely label embroidered by another QB member for the quilt. I attached it to the quilte after the quilt was quilted and bound.

I always attach the labels after I've finished binding the quilt. I do think about attaching it to the backing before I load it on the quilt, but that way, I couldn't be exact about where it ends up.

I add the label when I sew on the binding.

I usually do the label long after the quilt is finished, so I attach it by hand after the quilt is bound.

I attach the embroidered label after quilting and before binding. This way, two sides of the label are sewn into the binding edge. The other two sides are whip stitched by hand.

I attach all labels after I get my quilts back from LAQs; sometimes before, sometimes after I put the binding on.
I don't want sewing over my labels.

I've only done it once but sewing it on with the binding worked really well.

I attach mine after they have been both quilted and bound. I then know just where I want it, and have been happy with the results.
