Cool Attention Hoosiers

Calling all Hoosiers! My niece has decided to matriculate at IU-Bloomington! We are all thrilled for her. I would like to make her a quilt in crimson & cream for her to use at the university. I would love to have suggestions from quilters in Indiana (or elsewhere) on a quilt block to use for this project.
Thanks!

You could always put the school letters (in the style the school uses) in the center of a quilt with a frame style quilt block (like carpenter's wheel) in the center.

BearPawQuilting http://www.bearpawquilting.com has a lot of college fabrics, both cotton and fleece.

I'd just enlarge the IU as they show it. It's fairly square shaped so you might be able to use HST or just squares. Crimson and cream for the bottom corners of the U

First, "cream and crimson" is really just plain old red and white. As GrannieAnnie said, the IU logo is fairly square and would be super easy to do. A red IU logo with a white background for the center of the quilt, with smaller blocks of the IU logo using white for the logo and red for the background as a frame for the center block, followed by red and white borders would be cool.

Sorry, I can't really help. Everything in this family has a great big, black and gold P.
I would do the IU in the middle and be sure to use red and white.

One of the quilter ladies from church had one son at PU and one at IU at the same time. And the IU one played football!

Default Open to new ideas

For the Purdue fans who responded, just want to let you know that my husband and I and two of our sons are Buckeyes! Three of us live in Illinois and one in Los Angeles. We are willing to overlook our relative's defection to IU-Bloomington.
For my sons, I made two quilts in scarlet and gray. Using the Snowball block pattern (http://www.quilterscache.com/S/SnowballBlock.html)i appliqued A large block O on gray chambray, or OSU licensed image fabric onto gray gingham. I alternated these blocks with the Ohio Star pattern http://www.quilterscache.com/O/OhioStarBlock.html also in Scarlet and Gray.
I would like to know if any one has a pattern that has a name with Indiana in it, or is associated with Indiana history. That would make a really great quilt, and I can alternate the IU logo in the snowball blocks like I did for the OSU quilts.
