Default auction fund raiser

I was told about a fund raiser /auction coming up for a young woman in her 40's. A rare disease has attacked her kidneys. She has been in the hospital for couple weeks and drs talking about putting her on transplant list. A member of the family called to tell me, so I offered to make 'something' and donate. Any ideas for me? The event is in April.

Ooh, you could make a pretty throw size quilt in modern colors that would appeal to a wide range of people.

A throw quilt sounds good. If you go any bigger, they will never get what it's worth. Hope they raise a lot of money to help her.

I have recently donated two lap quilts to a local cancer charity for their fundraising. Each quilt was made from a jelly roll. The finished size was 35” x 40”. As I had some leftover fabric I made matching cushions for each quilt.

Anything and everything works for the auction. Casserole carrier, quilts, wall hangings, table runners, placemats and matching table runner, insulated lunch bag, pot holders. A variety of people will be attending, so a variety of items are needed.

What part of the country is this fund raiser located??

I make items for fundraisers often. If you are into sewing mini quilts, they have been a good item for me.

I have also made what I call a Quilter's Basket with items a quilter would like...a sewing machine cover, a machine "apron" with pockets, a checkbook sized needle case/small project...see this link for more detailed information. This is the first one I made. I like to put together a couple of kits I from my fabric stash and self designed pattern (or a new pattern or online freebie. If using an online freebie from a blog make sure you ask permission from the blogger. I've never had one say no.)...think seasonal table runner or small wall hanging. Succeeding pictures were made the following years.

Not a fundraiser but I made little bags/tote/cosmetic thank you for coming bags for out of town guests for my grandson's wedding. I heard back from a few of them stating various uses. I decorated them with lace and buttons and they turned out really sweet. I don't know if these are auction or boutique items you are looking for.

I have found that sport team themed quilts sell really well.

Patriotic is what I would do in throw size. Someone may buy it and gift it to a Veteran.
