Where do all of you purchase your aurifil thread? I would like to find a cheaper source than my LQS. If on the internet could you point me to some sites?
Thanks for any help you can give me. grammasharon

The most economical way to purchase Aurifil is to buy the big cones. www.redrockthreads.com has them for $39 with $5 shipping. I piece every day and a big cone lasts me a year or more.
www.fabric.com has the smaller spools with free shipping if you buy $35 or more. I've purchased a couple smaller spools in colors I don't use much at the same time as I was buying fabric so I'd make that $35 minimum.
Welcome to the world of Aurifil ... I don't use anything else.

There are several ebay sellers that sell for around $8.50 or so. There is a bit of shipping but I worked it out that buying 3 spools with shipping was pretty cost effective compared to LQS price of $11.99.

Thanks for the link to Red Rock Threads -- I will check that one out. I would rather have a large cone of a couple different colors. My LQS only carries a few colors anyway but they are in the small cones and pricey. But I do like Aurifil!

Here is a new source for quilting supplies in general... I bought Aurifil cotton 50wt there for $6.67 (free shipping) for the large spools (not cones). They don't always offer the same items, but I noticed they are getting more quilting items all the time. It is called Massdrop. https://www.massdrop.com/home
You do have to join and wait a while for the item to arrive, they see how many people purchase an item and then when it reaches a certain number they end that item and purchase it.

I love to shop at Hawthorne Threads because their shipping charges are minimal and they ship orders extremely fast. However, I don't know how their prices for Aurifil compare to other sites. A small spool of 50 wt is $3.95, a large spool is $9.50 and a cone is $38.95.
