    Bamboo skewers are a lot less costly than that AWL you saw in the catalog. You can get them at your grocery store and not have to pay shipping. I like the shorter ones...just cut the long ones to the length you lke. I also color the blunt end with felt pen, just for the fun of it. I use mine to move fabric close to needle where my finger won't fit.

    I use cuticle sticks. I like them because they have a pointed end and a flat end. Really handy when you need to get close to the needle.
