Default Babylock Jazz

I just purchased a babylock Jazz about a month ago. I used it for about two weeks and liked it well enough. But....since i got home and started using it again it has a problem. When I lift my foot off the pedal, it continues to see. Using 5-6 extra stitches but up to as many as 25! Any comments or suggestions?

Could it be a problem with the foot pedal?

Since you got it home from where? Dealer? Check to make sure you have the right foot pedal for the machine. There is usually a parts list in the manual to help match the item numbers.

Do you have the foot pedal plugged firmly into the machine so it has a good connection?

Check with your dealer as there may be an update for the machine. Let them know of the problem.

Sounds like a foot pedal problem. I could be an easy fix you can do. Unplug the foot control and take the foot pedal apart. There may be a connection loose or something foreign inside like pin. A sewing machine needle got in side of my foot pedal once. If it is under warranty take it back to the dealer.

If this machine has a Start button you can use in place of the foot pedal, try using that and see if the problem still happens. If not, it would be a good indicator that the problem is indeed in the foot pedal.

Have you contacted the dealer to report this problem?

Two thoughts on possible causes:

1. I have a Baby Lock Soprano. Certain stitches have automatic tie-off stitches at the beginning, end, or both. While certainly not 25 stitches, this could account for a few stitches at the end.

2. Sometimes my foot pedal will scoot around and get caught underneath the rug or the edge of furniture that will hold the pedal down. You've probably checked for this, I know!

Good luck and let us know what happens!

Does your machine have memory pockets to store favorite stitches? You may be in one of those pocket stitches. Make sure the stitch selected is from the main menu.
