    We're RVing up there next year with a caravan. Can't wait to see it again. We took a cruise also about 3 years ago, and we did the train to Fairbanks by ourselves.

    Gee I could have written your commentary about the quilt shops! Same experiences. Much friendlier in Skagway. Silver Thimble people were just not as friendly, but the other two stores were wonderful.

    Our cruise was in September... I bet yours in June was just as COLD!!!

    Actually my cruise was the last one in September. I love the winter vacation. I used to live in NY state and now in Texas. So, I was prepared to see cold. Our Trip next year is in May for 30 days. We will see Spring baby animals and hopefully the Northern lights. We'll have long days too.

    I'll bring my little featherweight with me. But, with all the side trips planned, I doubt if there will be much time to sew.

    We left out VanCouver in Fall of 2002 on the Carnaval Spirit.

    Alaska Members- I will be cruising to Alaska and will have time in Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, and Juneau - are there quilt shops near the dock used by the Cruise Ships?
