Back from Paducah
This was our retirement/bucket list trip. I left PA and drove to Raleigh, NC to meet my 2 friends and then we drove to Paducah to live our dream. Stayed at Kuttawa, KY at the Days Inn, which was 36 miles from Paducah. Hotel provided everyone going to quilt show with a gift bag containing a small canning jar pin cushion filled with chocolate. How sweet! Breakfast at the hotel was great because we got to meet alot of people going to the quilt show and we shared our stories. The quilt show was great and the displayed quilts were outstanding. So many from Japan. Got to see Alex Anderson, Ricky Tims and Mickey Dupree. Loved Eleanor Burn's store. Got beautiful fabric for $3/yd. First day there, we went to Grand Rivers, KY (near Kuttawa) for dinner. Patti's Settlement was a very nice place with good food. Across the street was the Community Center and they were having their own quilt show with vendors. Beautiful vintage quilts there. One lady was having an estate sale from her mother's quilting stash. She was selling gallon-sized bags of fabric remnants for $1 a bag. Hallelujah, I was in heaven! I bought 4 bags. I must mention 2 quilt shops that we stopped at on our journey that were outstanding. Little Blessings Quilt Shop in Crossville, TN and Mammaw's Thimble in Knoxville, TN. Both places made me feel "warm and fuzzy" and I just loved them. The trip to Paducah was a wonderful experience and I'm glad we did it.

So glad you were able to do this at least once. Wasn't the weather great?! I live a couple of hours away so I like to try and go every other year. My friend and I went on Friday. I can't tell you how many times i said, "Oh wow!"
