I very rarely ever pin anything. It is a personal preferance though. I know a lot that do faithfully.

Depends on what I'm sewing, but with something big, then I do my pinning the same way as Bobbinwinder.

I started out not pinning and after never having seams match and battling toomany borders, I decided that it is worth the little bit of extra time to pin. Much faster than sewing, ripping then sewing again. I'm considering giving Amma's glue pinning on some blocks.

I'll admit it..........I am a pinner. I was a dress maker long before I was a quilter so yes, I pin.

One a long border I will pin every 6-8 inches and STILL sometimes get that wonky crud. I think ok did I cut this the right way? I think when I sew SLOWER I end up with less wobble on the edge. I kill myself with pins all the time, thankfully my own spit gets my own blood out .. could be why I never use white as a filler fabric lol. I cant stand however running over a needle and breaking my machine needle. Now that is a total drag. Oh and I love to use the fusible batting, it hold the fabric pretty well in place.. if you havent tried it, you might give it a whirl.
