Has anyone ordered the kit, including the pattern? What do you think of it? Has anyone finished the quilt? It's a lot of money to put out all at once and I wonder if it might be better to search out the 'bali pops' and pattern separately and use coupons. I don't 'need' it right away, just 'want' it right now!!!

I just ordered Judy Niemeyer's stepping stones pattern. They seem to be so expensive because all of the foundation papers and cutting templates are included in the pattern, but I am slowly buying the bali pops separately. I think I saw the bali wedding ring pattern for $40 ish in an ebay store somewhere. It is beautiful!

I just ordered the pattern for the bed runner. I'm finishing up her Glacier Star pattern. They're a lot of work but stunning when completed. I took a class and the instructor had the Bali Wedding Star quilt to show. It was incredible! The patterns are worth the price with all the foundation papers and very detailed instructions.

Your comment about the price of the pattern and detailed instructions being worth it just made my decision for me. I'm going to go for it. Thanks.

Your block is awesome. If mine is half as beautiful, I'll be pleased. Thanks for sharing.

i'm half way through my bali wedding star, should be done in September (that's the goal, anyway). I agree with the comments on the patterns - given what you get in the Judy Niemeyer patterns, they are well worth the price, in fact, seems that is all I am making right now :-). you get a quilt with incredibly great directions, all the paper templates needed to cut your fabric and all of the paper needed to piece it. to top it all off when done, you have an heirloom quilt that will just amaze you! I love her stuff. one tip, if making the Bali wedding star, be careful with the bali pops, there are repeats in the Bali pops and you may want to try and avoid that in your quilt. god luck, would love to see it when finished.

i have two friends who did it as part of a class. It took months and they were not really happy with the procedure. But oh my heavens the results were spectacular. The fabrics in that quilt were gorgeous. The overall effect is just gorgeous. Beth says she would never do it that way again.
