I just booked my seat on a bus trip to Quilt Odyssey in Hershey, PA. This is my first time going, despite the fact that I have lived in New York for basically 11 years (11 in August). Initially, I tried to make it a little family weekend getaway. I had planned to drive over with my husband and son Friday night then they could go to the zoo on Saturday and I would see the show and we would all have dinner that night together and leave on Sunday afternoon. But then I thought, "What?" and spend money on their entertainment and lodging, food and activities so that I wouldn't feel guilty? No way. They are staying home. I'm going on the bus and I plan to nap, read, chit-chat, whatever in peace. I will see the show at my pace and not be distracted by my 40 year-old or my 4 year-old!

Any advice from those that have been before? Any do not miss things or things to not do? Is anyone else from the board going?

Ohhhh good for you!!! It's amazing how hard it can be to do things for ourselves guilt free. I made a nice dinner and a chocolate cake for my guys (dh 32yo, ds1 4yo, and ds2 1yo) so I wouldn't feel guilty going to the guild meeting wed night.

Have fun on your trip! Only the mama of a little one will understand the excitement of a bus trip. Quiet time. Alone. With no responsibility other than sitting. Do you knit or crochet? That makes it even better if you do!

I will be at the show. I can't think of anything to tell you not to miss but if I do, I will post them. It is usually a very nice show.
