I attended the Quilt Trail Gathering in Ohio back in May. We celebrated 10 years of Quilt Barn painting. Donna Sue Groves helped start the movement by sparking interest and having a quilt block painted on her barn.
I had the honor of speaking about my novel and learning much from the many painters who attended. My websit has MANY quilt barn pics. http://www.melindaevaul.com

Here in Eastern TN there are barns everywhere with blocks. I love looking for them. They even have tours to see them. Really helps dress up an old barn!

My husband and I just took a 500 mile harley trip. We went to alton illinois and all along the way i saw the barn quilts. I couldn't help but notice since ---we are farmers and have an old wonderful barn----and --- I'm a painter. House painter that is. I've never been asked to do a barn quilt but oh would I ever love to. I'd almost do it for free i think they are so great!

PattyS, I live in East TN too. We love finding the barns when we travel. Many between us and my M-I-L's house in NC. Even more across the border in NC.

I have a friend who painted a quilt block for my house. She's in NC so I'm anxious to get my present. It's the Carpenter's Wheel block I feature on my novel cover. I have the perfect place for it on the side of my house. Sadly, no barn.
