Batik kaliedescope
Went to website 3dudesquilting.com to look thru their free patterns...found one that might work for my collection of batiks...it's called primrose lane.....it lists an arms length column of colors and sort of shows how many of each block to make. My question: your opinion - just sub my colors for what is showing and go for it? Btw I have that ruler and really never used it...(garage sale find). Thinking as long as equal, alternating lite/dark toned triangles and hsts in corners are used, will get that same color movement...?????just looking to do something a bit different

Looks like it was a kit sold by Hancock of Paducah but the pattern was free from TT

I personally prefer the more traditional color placement that creates circles all over the quilt. This is one of my earliest quilts, not great fabric choices (mostly Walmart fabrics - I didn't have a stash back then) but you can see the circles. There is also one fabric in there that was part of a guild challenge. I have to add that at the time I found the piecing very difficult, but I wasn't very experienced and I *hope* I could do it more easily now, though I'm not sure. It's getting those little corner bits on correctly that was the hardest part.

Yes, that was how I made my first one...45 degree triangles and hst corners. Mine was scrappier in that it didn't form orange peels.....and I alternated blocks....lite corner triangle block , then dark.......it was an idea I saw in a mag....did not take a pic of, nor do I have it.....that's how I plan on doing this only in batiks...it will truly look like a kaleidoscope....I have a small collection of them.....they are fascinating to look thru! Ah, let's see, where's that TO DO LIST!
