ok I think the batiks were true unless hofmans bail pops are not true batiks.

I am inclined to think that it was your batting and/ or backing that shrunk then, I've had Hoffman bali batiks bleed like crazy, but not shrink. So sorry that happened to you, show us a photo, I am sure it is a stunning quilt.
