I typically only buy supplies and batting from Joannes as they don't carry fabric I like. I try to get the batting with either a coupon or sale. Wouldn't you know they were all out of Warm and Natural by the yard...and there's a big sale on it this weekend:< Maybe they'll get more in for the sale, but I won't hold my breath. Anyway, they did have pre-packaged batts at 40% off. I'm assuming it's cheaper to buy it by the yardage rather than pre-packaged. Anyone know how much the pre-packaged stuff is marked up? Of course, there weren't any PRICES to compare  I have no idea why the prepackaged batts had no prices listed on the shelves, but there you go.. I've purchased a few prepackaged Warm and Naturals in the past, but can't remember if they were a ton more expensive than by-the-yard.

You can always place a special order for the batting when it's on sale...this way you can get however much you want at the sale price.

When Joann's has a special on the Warm & Natural prepackaged batting, it's usually between $9.99-$12.99 for the queen size. That's the equivalent of 3 yards off the bolt of 90" wide. The best I've seen the batting on the bolt is $5.99 on sale or similar with a coupon. The prepackaged is a better deal. I try to stock up when they have it on sale. It's also easier for me to store in my tiny home - I could never fit a roll of it here. I've never seen prices this low anywhere else. I have seen some battings online I'd like to try, but think the shipping costs would be too much for me to bother with.

So, it's actual a better deal to buy the queen or king prepackaged than by the yard? Wow. I wouldn't have expected that.

One thing I've noticed at my local Joann's is that they don't often have the packaged Warm & Natual on the shelf. I wonder if they just get it in for sales. It's a lot more expensive on their website. I've been fortunate to catch it the last few times it's been on sale.

Wow, thanks for the information. Who would have thought it would be cheaper pre-packaged! Guess I had not stopped to think about that for quite some time. I am fortunate enough to have a room for sewing - actually threw my car out of the garage and finished the interior with exception of double faced garage door. I don't mind the rails in the ceiling, after all it is for work. I told my husband when we converted that area, we would never move again. My boys yelled with glee because they helped us with the last move. With all my fabric/crafts stuff they were exhausted. Now, that room is full...who would have thought it?

Right now the pre-packaged is 40% off. They had Warm and Natural but the shelves weren't priced-I've got no idea why...the other batts had prices. Guess I'll have to go back and *gasp* try to find someone to help me.

Funny you should mention no pricing on the shelves. I was at Joanns over the weekend and there was no pricing on the shelves there either. Makes you wonder if all the stores are like that. I'm on the west coast.
