Default Batting Recommendations

I am about done with my six year old granddaughter's quilt top but need to find the right batting. They live in south Florida so I need batting as light weight as possible. I've never done a light weight quilt before.
What batting should I use? I have to use something so the quilt will hold up to the usage.

On my last quilt, I used Hobbs Tuscany 80% Cotton/20% wool and love it so much, ordered a 30 yard roll. We often think of wool as only a cold weather product . . .but the quilt stays cool, is light weight, has the best hand of any batting I've tried, incredibly, there's less shrinkage.

The Hobbs Tuscany Silk batting is extremely lightweight and thin.

Sometimes I use the very lightweight fleece that you can buy from Walmart fabric section. Works fine.

Silk is a very luxurious, soft, thin, lightweight batting. It would be my choice if you can afford it.

I live in FL and with the AC, I use quilts more often than you'd expect. I love the Hobbs 80/20 batting. The Tuscany ones sound nice, but I've never tried them.

I agree. I use Hobbs 80/20 batting since it's creation and never had a problem. Will have to try this Tuscany they make.

I live in Florida, and, I also use the Hobbs 80/20. With the air on, it is just fine. With the air off, I am sure it would be too hot. But, then, I'm sure with the air off, anything would be too hot. lol I might just have to try that silk batting. It sounds nice.
