I have four different colors and each have 1 1/2-2 yards each. I am a beginner quilter and would ask your help with an easy pattern you can recommend. Do you think larger blocks would be better? I want something that is not difficult so I don't get discouraged. Thanks so much!

Rail fence, Nine patch, are good patterns to start on. I would not go Too large, also, not real little. Find a beginner book to help you get started. you might check at the library or at some free patterns web sites....Google "free easy quilt patterns". As questions here too.

I remember many years ago my first quilting effort was a 9 patch. I was so new to quilting that I cut out and sewed every square one at a time...LOL. Needless to say, it took me a long time to put anything together and NOTHING lined up!! Imagine that :) I almost gave up on quilting......glad I didn't and learned a lot along the way :)
Good luck, Beachbaby :)

I have never understood why people say that the 9 patch is great for beginners....I agree with *retired2pa* that it's hard to get everything to match up the first time and it can be discouraging....a pattern like Yellow brick road that doesn't have to be so exact on matching would be a much better choice in my opinion :)
