Default Bernina Feet 8 & 10

Hi - I want to purchase a jeans foot and an edgestitch foot while they're on sale. I just learned that the "D" is for when you want to use the dual feed foot with it. There's a nice price difference between the plain feet and the ones with the "D" - is it worth it?

Thanks!
Iris

I assume you are talking about a Bernina that has the attached drop down dual feed foot? Anyway, if you want to use the dual feed foot to help feed the fabric evenly, you do want to get the D8 foot. I think it really does help with feeding the fabric though. I got the "D" foot set when it was on sale one time...the bummer was that I repeated a couple of the "C" feet I already had. But I use the "D' mostly.

Almost always I use the Dual Feed.
Thus, it's always Ds for me.

But you need to do what is right for you.
Do you use your Dual Feed?

I always buy the D foot if it available. It stinks because of the price difference, but why buy the high end machine if you're not taking advantage will all that the high end machines have to offer?

The "plain" Bernina feet are for the 5.5 mm wide feed dogs. The C or D feet are for the 9 mm feed dogs. I don't find the dual feed useful on my 590. I think I will buy C feet from now on.

Thank you all! I'm so sorry I am just now getting back to reply, but I did read your answers and it helped me make the decision to go ahead and purchase the more expensive D versions of both since they were on sale.

Sure appreciate the advice!
