Got a post card from my lqs advertising this. The machines are demonstrators from show, fairs and training seminars. Says most are no more than 6 months old and have full warranties. Anyone have experience with a sale like this?

Yes, make sure your dealer has a good reputation! Mine does, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Uh, where?! If they have warranties, GO FOR IT. Bernina isn't going to release a bunch of lemons to sully its reputation. I bought a used 440, only a one-year dealer warranty. It's a dream to sew on! I also have a new 820 and old 930 and 731. All excellent and worth every penny.

I'm up here in Canada but I bought my Bernina 440 QE from the sewing exhibition? sale. My local dealer was offered a certain number of the gently used machines for re-sale. It has a full warranty and support from my local shop. It made it affordable for me to get another machine and have my older Bernina as a backup. It is working out well for me.

i bought a bernina active 240, which I love, on clearance in December, this machine was usually well over $1.5K, I got it for 1/2 that. it was a floor model, used for 6 months. i bought it to have a dedicated machine for classes and retreats, as well as a general back up machine to my 440, which I also love. you can get a great deal if you shop around, not every Bernina dealer has the same price or offers the same "floor model" clearance specials.

I've been trying to find such a deal on a 240 or 350 for classes and travel.

How exciting! Don't know if this will get it down to the depths of my price range, but I'll definitely check it out!

Wow, sounds like a great deal. Gol for it as long as it has the warranty. Where can I look for such a deal? Would love to have another machine.

I'm in South Carolina. Guess you could check with your local shop.
