I am about to embark on a quilt for my granddaughter that has fusible applique in each block. The applique pieces are quite large. Any suggestions for a soft, easy to use fusible? I will be doing blanket stitches around each applique piece so I want a fusible that won't gum up my needle. Help, please .....

I really like Missouri Star's fusible. It's very lightweight. https://www.missouriquiltco.com/prod...39496733622307
Sorry I noticed it was unavailable right now.
There is a package of sheets: https://www.missouriquiltco.com/prod...40702598184995

I use Heat’n Bond Lite and for large pieces trim away leaving about 1/2” of the fusible, I think it is called windowing.
this explains it

I like heat n bond. Here is a good video to see what the different weights are like and help you to pick what to use. Heat n bond lite and feather lite
Also, if you need to move your applique and there is adhesive left on the fabric, get a piece of aluminum foil and place it shiny side down on the adhesive and iron the foil. You may need to do this a few times, always using a clean piece of the foil so you don't redeposit the adhesive that did come up on the foil. Removes the adhesive like a charm!

Now that is one heck of a helpful hint! I didn't know this, but it makes perfect sense! Thanks for sharing

Gee, quiltingcotton, your hint about using aluminum foil to remove adhesive is a hit with others and me, as well.
Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.
