I agree with the other customers of J Hittles -- very large selection of product types from dozens of different makers, excellent pricing, reasonable shipping, and orders arrived fairly quick.

But it always pays to do your homework and compare. Remember to include shipping costs when you're figuring prices -- some companies charge based on the dollar amount of the order or number of items, others by shipping weight (the most equitable method IMHO).

The best places I've used so far for notions are,
http://www.createforless.com/
http://www.discountembroiderysupply.com/
http://www.quilterswarehouse.com/
http://jhittlesewing.com/visitor/index_jhs.html
http://www.quilting-warehouse.com/index.html

There isn't a JoAnn's any where close and the closest Hobby Lobby is a little over an hour away so I shop online.

When I need notions if I don't have a coupon or they are not on sale, they walmart in my area has the better prices for mats and rulers. Bobbins and needles I stock up on those when Hancock has sales. Hobby Lobby will be opening the end of October so I have to wait till then to see what I can get at what price.

One ruler I found at the local quilt shop for 11.50 not on sale and Joanns wanted 15 dollars for it. It was cheaper with a coupon but the shop also had a coupon so the shop was cheaper.
Totally agree. I bought a ruler that with the coupon was $14. I wascat Michaels a short time later where the same darn ruler was regularly $14!!! wish I'd have used the coupon on it there instead!! I'll never fully trust Joannes again.

I am planning a trip to Mary Jo's Fabrics in Gastonia NC and was checking their website to see if it would be worthwhile. They do have quilting notions that seem reasonable enough to make the trip. They also have more fabric than I can take in in a day. You can also shop online with them.

Haven't read the answers yet, but I like the Home-Sew company, and J Hittle is good, especially if you want to order in quantity.
