How do you measre and finish a bias binding on a small piece? I have seen the binding tool,but the directions are for leaving a longer tail.How do you adjust for short ends?

I had the same problem....with the binding tool....... you leave a 12" opening.
I found this tutorial and use it for smaller projects......like mug rugs etc.
