Default Who Does FM Embroidery for Quilts?

I made a quilt, posted on the Pictures thread, in which I stitched wine glass shapes in every other square on the back. I had quilted SID. This was just a spur of the moment thing to try....my quilt! I loved the results! I would love to do more things like this. I know how to FMQ and am building my designs. I'm wondering how to create FM embroidery to include in a quilt.

Are you talking with an embroidery machine or freehand with a domestic machine
