Default BL9 sewing machine

Does anyone know anything about the Baby Lock BL9 sewing machine. I know it's very basic but am just looking for an inexpensive additional and lightweight machine to easily move around. I do have a Baby Lock embroidery machine to sew on most of the time but it's rather heavy for me to move around easily if I want it upstairs or take to a class.

Does it sew decently and if you have one, do you like it?

Thanks

The BL9 is probably a good basic machine. I just bought the Janome MyStyle 100 for the same purpose. I do like the MyStyle for a little worker-bee. very nice, clean stitches and the perfect size. Its the very same as the model just above the BL9...adds drop-in bobbin and drop-feed. I think BabyLock's version of it is Anna. On my machine, the width and length is adjustable on the zig-zag stitch only. Often the basic mechanicals have fixed stitch width and length on all stitches. No adjustable pressure..you have to bump up to Molly or her twin in Janome, Sewist 500 to get that feature. You should do fine w/ BL9.

The BL9 is Babylock's entry level machine that is to compete with the cheap big box store's offerings. It is a nice little machine. It has the basic stitches. Right now there are a lot of sales around. You could probably get a great deal on the next model up in their line of machines. There would be more value for not much more price.

Have to agree that you might want to bump up one level to get a machine with enough flexibility to use in class, while staying in the BL line so all your feet and accessories are interchangeable. The BL line is "reinventing" itself, and there should be some good buys on the current inventory. Baby Locks are really good machines...
