Default Is this block paper pieced?

I am going to order this book, but we will be out of town so I can't order the book until March! I am wondering if the bear-paw type block in this quilt is paper pieced? What do you think?
Sorry-you will have to scroll down to the picture of the log cabin quilt that has the bear-paw type blocks in it....can't figure out how to link the photo...it's the quilt below the baltimore album quilt....

According to a description I read on another site, the pieces are rotary cut and machine pieced. No specific mention of paper piecing.

I don't think so as it just looks like two different sizes of HSTs, so it definitely could be straight pieced. I supposed any could be paper pieced, but I wouldn't on this block. (draw the inside paw as a square and then see the outside paws as more HSTs)

Even if the pattern does it via rotary cutting and traditional piecing, there is no reason why you could not draw up your own PP pattern. If that is what you want!

Or maybe you wanted it to be made the traditional way? And if so, if this were a PP pattern, it would be easy enough to switch back to making it the traditional way.

You can do it either way. I usually PP when working with smaller blcoks. But it is what you prefer.
