    hi, ok i need someone to explain to me how to calculate the deminsions of a quilt for the squares and how u get the deminsions for lets say a full is SUPPOSED to be 72x90. how do u get that cause everyone has a different number. This is for a quilt that has no borders besides the back fabric border and has no sashing just a square by square quilt so im sure to get it to hang over alittle ill need a few more squares but could u PLEASE explain to me how i calculate it all by myself. There are so many beautiful block kits available on Ebay today but many quilters are uncertain of how many blocks they will need to purchase in order to make their quilt.
    The number of blocks in our chart below are based on the mattress size only.
    Add extra blocks or borders for drop at sides of mattress. Happy Quilting!

    CRIB size = 30" x 40"
    12 Ten Inch Blocks Needed
    Layout = 3 x 4

    TWIN size = 40" x 80"
    32 Ten Inch Blocks Needed
    Layout = 4 x 8

    FULL Size = 60" x 80"
    48 Ten Inch Blocks Needed
    Layout = 6 x 8

    QUEEN Size = 60" x 80"
    48 Ten Inch Blocks Needed
    Layout = 6 x 8

    KING Size = 80" x 80"
    64 Ten Inch Blocks Needed
    Layout = 8 x 8
    Are the numbers correct for the Full and Queen size quilts? I was wondering because they are the same for the 10 inch blocks.

    No way are those good for quilt sizes, none of them. They have virtually no drop whatsoever, let alone any tuck in if you want a quilt instead of a bedcover.
    Mattress sizes are:
    crib 28x52
    twin 39x75
    full 54x75
    queen 60x80
    king 76x80
    cal king 72x84

    Wonderful question. Two terrific answers. Thank you. I have the information that I, like Willie, have been unable to find. Thank you, thank you.
