Default Blocks are too small

I am making a small wall hanging with nine blocks. I completed six of the blocks a couple of weeks ago and started on the seventh block yesterday. As I was trimming the block, I re-read the instructions and saw that the blocks are to be trimmed to 5 3/4". Well, dummy me trimmed the first six blocks to 5 1/2". Do you think that will make much of a difference when completing the wall hanging? Can I tweak the blocks by adding an extra 1/4" to the sashings? I feel like such a chuckle-head! Note to self: Read instructions, and then read again!

As long as you keep them consistent size I think you should be ok. It will just be a little smaller than anticipated.

Fix it with sashing and move forward! Easy mistake that can happen to anyone and I'm pretty sure we have all had it happen to us at least once. I myself quit counting. LOL I know it can be dishearting, but like I said, we all make a mistake here or there. If anyone notices it, just tell them you thought you'd make yours a little more personalized!

Sorry, my crystal ball is in for a tune up!
It really is hard to know how it may or may not affect your overall result.
A photo could help make the feedback you will get more relevant to your concern.

It may not make a difference ... and the end result will be smaller.
(sashings will be smaller now too).
Or it could make a HUGE difference ... depending on how the blocks go together.

I'm at work right now (don't tell my boss!) so I don't have the pattern with me, but this picture is very close to it. Not as large...only nine baskets.

You might be taking off the points off your baskets. try and sew them together at 1/8 in.

Wall hangings don't have to be a specific size. Nobody but you will know what size it was supposed to be anyway so it doesn't matter what size it actually turns out to be.

There is even a pattern where the points on all the stars are purposely NOT pointed but cut off in the seam allowances.

So, just let it go, have a chuckle, call it a design decision, and know better for next time.
