I had used peroxide but some thing as simple as that, wow i didn't know that.

I have heard that. Thanks goodness I've never had to try it.

Yes, I knew the trick with the saliva. You don't have to lick your quilts - use a small piece of cotton fabric, wet it and just spot it on your quilts. It works.
But don't try to ask your quilting friend to do it for you! This is a very personal thing...

The quilt was for me and had been a lot of trouble making it - so I left the blood spots on
