Pretty cool. I love it when we use what we have on hand. It just makes great sense!

Thank you mrspete. They really work great and they hold the thread in place so well. They are not expensive and I believe you can get them at the dollar tree or Big lots.

My bobbin threads have become manageable since I started using these. Thanks for thinking to post and share this with others!

Never would have thought of this what a great idea now I can't wait to go to the dollar store. Great timing as I am in the process of cleaning up my sewing room! Thanks so much!

Now I wish I didn't throw so many away when the kids left them all over the house. Now when I see them I will pick them up and to the sewing room they go.

You can get a bag of 300 for a buck at Family Dollar. Dollar Tree and Dollar General don't have the big bags. I've been using them for a couple of years on my bobbins. Another big advantage is if you drop your bobbin with one of them on it it doesn't roll away.

ok, I am not up to par with girl hair thingies.
my great nieces has some of these to put in her hair, are these the same things? sorry does sound kinda dumb, but I don't have any little girls hanging around me!(wish I did though)and small rubber bands placed around the bobbin, who would have guessed! I think I will go get a bag today!

Finch I use them too & have for years. Just never thought to post it on the board. Use to braid hubby's hair for work & would only use the black, so I had all the other colors to use. Now with 4 gds I still have them hanging around. Of course in my sewing room...all the pink, purple, & green ones are gone...LOL
Thanks for sharing the tip with everyone! :D

Strangely enough,I never had any girls.Just one boy.But he used them on his hair and still does to prevent breakage.I love the pink ones with the silver glitter in them.
